Standard ISO 14001 is the standard used worldwide for environmental management systems. As an express courier service, we have defined the responsibilities and procedures for corporate environmental protection. These include regulations for planning, execution and monitoring as well as the definition of responsibilities and behaviours. The main aim of the environmental management system used is to minimise negative effects on the environment.

Why did swissconnect get ISO 14001 certified?

Thanks to our unique transport system, we have been using the most environmentally friendly means of transport for 25 years and are considered the fastest and most sustainable courier service. We do not want to rest on our laurels; instead, we want to constantly improve and assume responsibility in ​​environmental management. With the certification, we guarantee that we constantly monitor and improve our offer, our processes and the use of resources. In addition, the certification is being increasingly requested by national tenders and by our customers, in order to show that we use responsible business practices.

Benjamin Hochreutener, you are the Head of Quality Management. What is the link between ISO 14001 and ISO 9001?

swissconnect’s quality management system has been certified according to ISO 9001 since 2010 and since then it is successfully passed all requalifications. The main objective of ISO 9001 is that we have adequate and efficient processes in order to offer our customers high quality services.  ISO 14001 covers many processes that are included in ISO 9001, however, it notably also includes the additional “environmental aspects” element. Both systems promote a holistic view of our company and are based on the “continuous improvement processes approach”, so that we are constantly improving. Our customers and the environment repeatedly benefit from both certifications.
